How We Make a Difference in the World

Planet Earth, believe it or not, has many supporters of sustainability, conservation, human rights, and many other important causes. In the fray of trying to do good things in the world, our efforts can collide with one another no matter how noble or generous our intentions may be. It's this reality that we confront in our quest to make a difference in the world. How can we all work together to help rescue nature and how can we encourage and support each other in this effort? We believe the answer to this question begins with our youth.

A New Path Forward

The future of the world is in the hands of our children, their education is in ours. One of the most consequential and neglected aspects of sustainability and conservation efforts worldwide is that they don't prioritize the education of youth. They are simply left to follow the behavior of their parents generation. At Pangaea, we consider environmental education of the highest importance in changing course of planet Earth. At the Reef Rescue School students will learn to integrate all the core education skills of math, reading and writing, science, and physical education into their technical training. Student will learn to put knowledge to work to provide for their families, conserve and protect nature, and explore the wonders of our planet.

The Reef Rescue School and the pilot aspect of this program is a proposal to abandon old ways of thinking. It's saying " we failed to protect nature for you, our children, and we are going to give you all our support, knowledge, and lessons learned so you can create a different path. Students that live near these threatened ecosystems will have the opportunity to swim in their own reef, scuba dive and connect with a magical underwater world and make friendships that are rooted in exploration, adventure, and guardianship over nature. It's a big deal because we are going to give our children their inheritance now, while the planet still has a thread of hope to recover its precious natural ecosystems before we reach the point of no return.
